A Day In Brighton
Life has been absolutely crazy this past month and as a result I’ve been pretty MIA from the blog. I apologize for the absence, but I’m excited to get back into blogging again. I took a day trip to Brighton (on the coast of the UK) yesterday as a requirement for one of my classes and honestly at first I wasn’t too thrilled to be going. We were scheduled to be on a walking tour for most of the day and the weather was supposed to be rainy and cold.
Wow was I wrong though!! Out of everywhere I’ve been so far this was probably one of my favorite places! The city itself was super trendy and artsy—it reminded me so much of Santa Monica. There were so many cute stores and boutiques I could’ve spent hours shopping around. One of the best parts of the city was all of the amazing street art! There were colorful murals around every corner.
The weather ended up being gorgeous and we ditched the tour of a boring historical site to hang out on the pier all day. The pier was crowded with little kids playing arcade games and eating handfuls of cotton candy so we joined in on the fun. We bought unlimited wristbands and went on rides all afternoon—totally worth the £23! The whole day brought me right back to my childhood summers spent at Bethany Beach and it was so nice to be near the water for the day. I love London, but I definitely miss being a quick drive away from Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay.
We are off to Lisbon, Portugal next weekend and I’m looking forward to (hopefully) warmer weather. For anyone who’s ever been to Lisbon—tell me all the must-see attractions in the city!
